Save China's Tigers
What are Chinese tigers doing in the wilds of South Africa? An incredible journey brought them to this game reserve where they are learning to survive in the wild. At first, they are beaten off by baboons and perplexed by unfamiliar prey. But tigers are quick learners. Soon they will be ready to head back to China and settle into the reserve being prepared for them. At the heart of this improbable journey is Li Quan, who gave up a glamorous career in fashion to save these spectacular beasts. Along the way, she has bolstered national pride and taught China that it can lead the world in nature conservation. But huge obstacles still remain. Drought, unrest, criticism and the death of one of the tigers threaten to derail the project. Can she meet the goal of bringing the big cats back in time for the Year of the Tiger?
