ARCTIC FOX, HEATING UP
1x52'
Synopsis
The arctic fox (or northern fox), lives in the northern hemisphere's polar regions and can withstand temperatures that can dive to - 80° Celsius.
As adaptable as this species may be, it is at present under threat from the changing climate. Its "cousin", the southern fox, is gradually encroaching on its territory, and its favourite food, the lemming, is vanishing.
So how does its future look?
This wildlife film, shot in Iceland, Norway (the Varanger Peninsula and Spitzberg) and the Canadian far north, will give us a good idea of the little animal's daily struggle for survival in a swiftly changing world.
Two more 52' episodes will be produced in 2011, about the reindeer and the Nile crocodile.
