UNIQUE GARDENS AND PARKS
2 x 52 '
Synopsis
Take an exclusive look over the walls of some of Europe’s most spectacular and creative private gardens. Follow four of the continent’s leading landscape architects as they guide us through the private paradises they create for their privileged clients. From Japanese-inspired tranquility to a house completely covered in greenery, discover the passionate world of cutting-edge garden design.
François Goffinet, a Belgian landscape artist, is just completing an unusual garden in Tuscany. As with all his other projects, he brings together the best European craftspeople to produce amazing results.
Eric Borja visited Kyoto in 1977 and it changed his life. He left Paris for the Drôme region in central-eastern France where he has developed his own version of a Japanese garden, all 12 acres of it.
Then there is Patrick Blanc, the inventor of living walls. Most recently he enhanced his reputation by designing one of the walls of the newly opened Quai Branly museum in Paris. His latest, highly unusual endeavour is to line all the walls of a house, from floor to ceiling, with plants.
