NUNAVIK: JOURNEY IN INUIT COUNTRY
1 x 52 '
Synopsis
The Inuit remained isolated from the rest of the world for a long time, only becoming part of modern-day life a few decades ago.
With the birth of the territory known as Nunavik ("place to live" in the Inuktitut language), they took control of their destiny and decided to organize the discovery of their newly-rediscovered land.
With no roads and few air links, they had the idea of organizing cruises to Nunavik.
A team of young Inuit from Kuujjuak help curious travelers discover Inuit history and traditions which a few communities on the Hudson Strait have managed to preserve.
This Journey in Inuit Country is of course the ideal opportunity to study the fauna – polar bears, musk oxen and walruses – which have always played a key role in the Inuit lifestyle.
