DOUBLE GAME, MARC-ANDRE DALBAVIE'S MUSIC
1 x 26 '
Synopsis
Composer Marc-André Dalbavie prepares a special concert in Beijing of his work, "Double Jeu" (literally "Double Game").
He reveals to us his sources of inspiration and the principal aesthetics of this original piece which is built on the structure of
a Buddhist ceremony. This work was composed for the Year of France in China and brings together the "Orchestre National
de Paris" and China's National Orchestra. The composer takes this opportunity to show us around some of the places which
influenced his creations... From the Périgord, where he hails from, to China, the images provide a counterpoint to the words
and music as they take us on a symbolic journey of discovery in which the music vibrates and merges with the surrounding
natural world.
