BOLIVIA, THE REVENGE OF THE INDIANS
1 x 52 '
Synopsis
For the first time in the history of Latin America, an Indian has been elected president.
Evo Morales, the head of state since January 22, 2006, has given the native population great hope.
This film explains the issues and risks of this election result and explains the expectations of Bolivia's various ethnic communities.
When Evo Morales fought the police defending the coca producers, no-one would have thought that one day, he would become the President of a country traditionally governed by whites or people of mixed race.
With a Quechua father and an Aymaran mother, the leader of the MAS ( Movement Towards Socialism) today represents the smiling face of the future for the Indians who make up 70% of the population in the poorest state in South America.
