MISSING CHILDREN
1 x 52 '
Synopsis
Two children vanish. DNA testing, computer-generated identikits, etc. New techniques help investigators in their search.
Every year about three hundred children vanish in France. What means do the police use to find them? How can the investigation be resumed years after the disappearance?
Laurent Chung-Ming's movie responds to these questions by exploring the new techniques available to investigators to catch the criminals.
These two examples show that the first few days following a child's disappearance are all important. Starting in early 2006, the police have set up a media-based system for alerting the French public that a child has gone missing.
