DADDY AT WAR
1 x 52 '
Synopsis
When the First World War broke out, there were 4 million "poilus" in the front lines and 4.5 million students in school. The former were plunged into the horror of the war, but when mail-call arrived, they turned back into fathers, uncles and godfathers.
The children were just old enough to be playing with dolls and lead soldiers. Pens and coloured pencils were their only weapons for opposing the emptiness caused by absence.
