GREAT GENE STORY;THE
1 x 52 '
Synopsis
The gene, that macroscopic element, after a long series of scientific discoveries has emerged as the key to the mysteries of the living world. Yet understanding it has often met with resistance, even misuse, by certain extremist minds like the German Nazis or the Soviet communists in the first half of last century.
Today researchers are placing a lot of humanist hope in studying the human genome. In the movie, moreover, we make a constant parallel between contemporary society's talking about old discoveries and concerns (developing genetically modified organisms) and its hopes (the eradication of certain hereditary diseases).
