MAY AYSHA'S CARAVAN
1 x 52 '
Synopsis
This is a documentary about a very old woman named Aysha Messaoud. She was born in Mauritania and has spent her life as part of an illustrious nomadic family led by Sheik Ma-el-Ayneen. Today she lives in Tata, a small town in Morocco on the northern edge of the Western Sahara.
The film's (lady) director sets out on the trail of our heroine's past. From stage to stage, over thousands of kilometres across the desert, she seeks out and interviews the Sheik's descendents. Their memories blend in with Aysha's, stories about these nomadic peoples of the Western Sahara, who were made to lead a sedentary life throughout the 20th century.
