Synopsis
The Interceltic Festival is the world's biggest meeting of artists from the Celtic countries. Every year 4,500 of them gather in the Brittany port of Lorient in August. They come from Scotland, Ireland, Wales, the Isle of Man, Cornwall, the Asturias, Galicia and Brittany and from around the world. It is not only the largest annual showcase of the Celtic countries with their ancestral roots but also a rush of life turned to the future. Traditional and classical musicians, folk musicians, jazz musicians and rock musicians, singers, dancers, painters, sculptors, writers, filmmakers and lecturers can be seen on stages, in the streets or under big tops for 260 events viewed by some 300,000 spectators every year.
