AT THE GLASS BUILDING - The story of the UN told by its Secretary Generals
4 x 26 '
Synopsis
Top UN officials tell the story, weaving a unique tapestry that recounts more than a half century of history.
Kurt Waldheim was Secretary General of the UN for ten years at the heart of the Cold War. In spite of the tarnish of the Waldheim Affair, his observations are of prime importance...
...As are those of Javier Pérez de Cuéllar, who participated in the dismantling of the Soviet Empire and in the Gulf War.
Boutros Boutros-Ghali was a key player in the 90s and is one of the prime craftsmen of a new, fairer and more human globalisation. Here he is interviewed by Jean Lacouture, the renowned French writer and journalist.
And of course there is Kofi Anan, the current Secretary General, who for this film gives the most complete interview of his two mandates.
....just a few months from the beginning of the campaign for the election of a new Secretary General.
