CREATURE OF THE NATAL;THE
1x52'
Synopsis
'The creature of the Natal' is a film about a scientific and initiatory journey.
The diary of Gail Adisson, studying biology in Cape Town. Together with a camera crew convinced by her cause, she has decided to follow one of the most astonishing animal migrations.
Every year, in June, the thousands of sardines beds spread between South Africa and the Antarctic are gathering together to form the biggest living organism on earth.
Five billion of these animals, forming a column measuring thirteen kilometres long by two kilometre large are starting the most incomprehensible migration.
For two months, the swarming ribbon is entering this natural trap to the borders of the Natal province, without nobody knowing why.
This migration does not offer any recognized advantage to this moving crowd. Even worse, this long journey is a trap, full of pitfalls.
The animal population all around are covering hundreds of kilometres to take part in this huge quarry. Each animal species is setting a trap all along the ascent...and each one will take advantage of the situation for its own survival.
