Synopsis

This documentary takes us on a pilgrimage to Betania (Venezuela), the place of the last apparition, and to Medjugorje, (in former Yugoslavia), where the "Gospa" has appeared every night for the last 19 years to several boys and girls of the same village. Since 1980, more than 250 people claim they have "seen" the Virgin Mary. However, only one single apparition has been officially recognised by the Church and analysed by scientists. The film investigates and compares the opposing viewpoints of those defending supernatural phenomena and those in favour of rational explanations. However, the still increasing number of reported "apparitions" demonstrates a certain need for the inexplicable, the supernatural and the miraculous.
