Synopsis
An intimate portrait of the great Romantic painter taken from his own writings: his letters and his diary. The film is shot in the places Delacroix lived in: his workshops, Parisian " quartiers ", country houses, the forest of Senart, and the sea at Dieppe, amongst others. We see his move famous works alongside those we rarely get a chance to see, such as those from his sketch book or those that adorn the French Senate. We also discover the painter's views on love, music, God, progress and photography. Readings by Alain Robbe-Grillet.
