Synopsis
On the 28 th of January 1802, a 32 year old German poet, still unknown, Friedrich Hölderlin, arrives in Bordeaux to take up his position as the tutor of the children of the Consul Meyer.
This is the chance for Hölderlin to flee a Germany where he met only failure, both emotional and social.
But Bordeaux, his last hope, will not respond any better to his complex and utopic desires.
There only remains for him now one place of voluntary refuge, an inner hiding-place which the men of his day called "Madness".
