CLOVIS - THE LIFE OF THE KING OF THE FRANKS
1x26'
Synopsis
In 1996, France celebrated the 15th centenary of Clovis' baptism. Events were organized all over France around the visit of Pope John Paul II to Reims. A number of books and CD Roms were published about Clovis and the city of Reims and its cultural heritage.
This documentary was made for television too, to play its role in the proceedings. It is biographical but also explores the key period of history between the Roman Empire and the Carolingian Era. Clovis remains the incarnation of the struggle against the division of politics and religion.
