Synopsis

Good-looking and fortunate young man, Mathieu resists and fights a reality which he cannot accept. His first weapon is daydreaming, which rapidly turns to nightmare, and then begins gently to turn his mind. His second weapon is love. For Mathieu, love has Jeanne's face, his wife. He could find fulfilment through her, but he rejects it. Does he expect Murielle to otter him the way out? Will she? Murielle, whom he talks about so often, whom he searches for so desperately, whom he finds and then loses again in a bewildered quest for salvation.
