Synopsis
The marmot is a mountain dwelling hibernating species. This film follows a family of marmots living in the Alps at above 2000 metres altitude throughout a year. It shows their family structure, territorial disputes, the bringing up of their young, the need to be on constant look out for danger and the importance of storing up as much fat as possible to be able to survive the long winter hibernation which starts in October.
