Synopsis

In some ways the Boy George story is typical of any rock'n'roll star -rapid rise to fame, pressure of success, drugs- except that he has publicly cultivated his gay persona. After the vicious press campaign against him and his subsequent public 'downfall', he proved to be unusual too in his emotional resilience. In narrating his story - his gayness,the group Culture Club, the drugs, his trial by tabloid- the film deals also with broader questions of sexuality and the relation between public persona and private life.
