BABILEE'91
1 x 60 '
Synopsis
Jean Babile's extraordinary physical grace and delicacy of movement first caught the public eye in 1946, when aged 23 he danced in Petit and Cocteau's "Le Jeune Homme et la Mort". Thirty three years later, having won international acclaim for his role creations (among others, in Lichine's "Oedipe et le Sphinx" and his own "Till Eugenspiegel") and founded his own company Les Ballets de Jean Babile, he danced in Maurice Bjart's ballet 'Life'. In photographer William Klein's black and white film, Babile, now aged nearly 70, prepares, rehearses and finally performs in a new production of Bjart's ballet at the Paris Opera Ballet.
